Finding A Sustainable Day Job

Working full-time in journalism, whether as a freelancer or a staffer, can feel increasingly unsustainable. In this live Study Hall course, Sara Polsky — a writer and editor who spent 15 years in journalism before transitioning to full-time work in education — will guide you through the process of finding a sustainable day job. The session will cover some of the benefits of looking for other work as a writer, what those jobs might look like, and how to build connections that can help you make a career shift. Polsky will also guide participants through exercises to explore their skillsets and what their ideal writing lives might look like. Participants will have the chance to connect with each other and to ask questions in a live Q&A.
