Pitch Perfect Workshop

Put your best pitch forward with a hands-on workshop of your pitch-in-progress! In the first half of this 3-Hour Workshop, Shawna Kenney will show you her system for organizing pitches, walk through real pitches that actually worked, and teach you how to research writer submission guidelines. The second half is hands-on. You'll work together with Shawna to edit and improve a few pitches live on screen so everyone can see the process. Meet Your Workshop Facilitator

Shawna Kenney’s essays and reportage have appeared in The New York Times, Playboy, Ms., Pitchfork, Business Insider and more. A Contributing Editor with Narratively Magazine with an MFA in Creative Nonfiction, she's the author of four books, including Firecracker Book Award-winning memoir I Was a Teenage Dominatrix (Punk Hostage Press), and Live at the Safari Club: A History of HarDCore Punk in the Nation's Capital (Rare Bird Books). Kenney also leads the international writing retreat Hamlet's Hideaway in Denmark every summer.
